Namibia and Botswana Wildlife Adventures: Trip Description
This trip combines popular places and national parks in Botswana and Namibia with gorgeous spots in highly off grid bush areas.
Starting in Windhoek we directly head towards the border to Botswana. The city of Maun is located at the shore of the Okavango delta and will provide the first highlights of the trip. Offerings from classical car safaris, Mokoro tours or scenic flights are introducing you to the beauty of the delta. Afterwards we will leave civilization and dive deeply into areas that are most of the year hard to arrive at all - Moremi and Savuti. Moremi and Savuti are directly located in the delta area. You will experience pure wildlife and the influence of the changing water levels to the landscape. Once we passed the delta area, we will head for another big attraction of Botswana - the Chobe River. You will explore the river area enjoying a boat safari with amazing sunsets but also discover the Chobe National Park itself.
Leaving Botswana towards Namibia we will be still following the water and visit some nice spots and lodges along Okavango and Kwando river. This will be also your chance to do some fishing. Once being relaxed by the days around the riversides it is time to get back in the bush. We proceed into Bushmanland and the Khaudum National Park spotting wildlife in the bush and getting to know the culture of the San (Bushmen) people. The final stage to the trip will introduce you into one of the private wildlife conservancy projects of the country – Harnas Wildlife Foundation.
This trip can be booked with camping or lodging accommodation.
